Online Public Access Catalog

The On-line Public Access Catalog (OPAC) allows for searching our collection on-line. Simply access the OPAC page, and enter the book, title, author, or subject that you are looking for. The results should let you know whether or not the Port Library owns a copy of the media you are looking for.
Viewing your checked out items on-line
As part of our automated system, patrons can view what items they have checked out on-line. In order to view your items on-line, there are a few things that need to be done.
1. Set up your on-line accout
In order to do this, the patron must come to the front desk of the library. The librarian must activate your on-line account, and set your initial password before you are able to access the account on-line. The librarian will help you set up a username and password to log in with. Keep this information in a safe place! The librarian cannot see your password; only re-set it.
2. Go to the Port Library Online Public Access Catalog webpage.
The Port Library OPAC page is our on-line catalog of books. It is also where patrons can view what items they have checked out.
3. Click the button titled "Log On" on the upper right of the OPAC page.
Doing this will pop up a box to log-in to see your library activity. In this box, you will be asked to provide your user name or card number, and your password (PIN). If you choose to use your library card number, you will not need to include all the zeros at the beginning.
4. You can now view your items
Assuming that you successfully logged on, the page that is now displayed is your home page. From this page, you can see what items you have checked out, any fines you owe, and do a variety of other tasks.

Electronic Items in Collection

The Port Library will be a part of the Sunflower Consortium beginning December 1, 2012. The Sunflower Consortium is a service of the Overdrive Corporation and provides users with access to check out electronic items to a user's own device. Library card holders will need to set up online account access (see above) to use this service. You can view the catalog of items and check out items from the Sunflower Consortium's homepage.
