Databases via the State Library of Kansas
Subscription costs to large databases are prohibitive for most small Kansas libraries. The State Library of Kansas subscribes on their behalf and makes the databases available for any member of the public to browse through links on their website.

The Kansas Library Catalog, listing the lending collections of every public library in the State may also be viewed here. Click on "Kansas Library Catalog." The Port Library can request nearly any item listed in this catalog to borrow it via Inter-Library Loan for our patrons.

- Small Business Reference Center - Legal forms free online
- EBSCO MasterFile Premier - magazines, newspaper articles, and journal articles. Consumer Reports full text magazine available
- Consumer Health Complete - print out drug information and health fact sheets for a number of health conditions
- Learning Express - full text well know study guides for GED, ASVAB, CDL, Nursing Entrance, ACT and more tests. Also has a resume and cover letter creator. The patron will need to create their own login from within the database.
- Mango Languages - learn another language for free! Even includes "pirate" as a language. The patron will need to create their own login to save their progress from within the database and use Mango's mobile app.
- Encyclopedia Britannica - the classic you know and love, separated by age level. Can take pictures and other information from the site for use in school projects.
- Heritage Quest - Genealogy research. Will require a Kansas Library Card (separate from your Port Library card).
