Hi!  This is Rachel Malay, director at the Port Library in Beloit.

Nora Roberts is a very prolific author, with more than 100 books to her name. And this doesn’t even include her pseudonyms! As Nora Robers, this popular author writes romances, sometimes with a supernatural twist as is in today’s Port Pick: Captivated by Nora Roberts. Although the books were published over 10 years ago, the stories are still popular and the Port Library just recently completed the 4 volumes in the Donovan Legacy series in audiobook. Captivated is the first in the series.

Morgana Donovan and her cousins all share a secret that’s been handed down through the generations, a secret that sets them slightly apart from the rest of society. For Morgana, living as a modern witch isn’t always easy, but then Nash Kirkland comes into her life. Nash is researching for his latest screenplay on witches, ghosts, and other beings. As a skeptic, he isn’t sure he can trust Morgana’s claims she has supernatural powers. But then she demonstrates those powers for him, and Nash finds himself falling under Morgana’s spell.

Our audiobooks check out for two weeks at a time. This title is just under 8 hours long, so if you’re planning a long weekend getaway or just want something to play in the background while you do housework or go to the wellness center, give this a try!

You can get the book reviewed here and more great titles to watch, read, listen to, or play with at the Port Library at 1718 N. Hersey in Beloit.  This is director Rachel Malay, saying “Thanks for checking us out!”
